Bishop divine liturgy was held at the papal cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore in the framework of the Bishops' Synod of Bishops pilgrimage to the tombs of the Apostles. In his sermon, the patriarch stressed that « if the global communityand be indifferent to the events in Ukraine, tomorrow it can happen in any other country & raquo ;. &Laquo; We came to the Holy See to the highest throne of the Catholic Church to speak to the whole world: do not be indifferent, for indifference kills. At the end of his sermon patriarch expressed his belief that « Ukraine and Ukraine will have » and on behalf of all the UGCC called « not to be indifferent to the suffering of the Ukrainian people & raquo ;. In worship also was Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
