In Poland celebrated the 200th anniversary of the birth of the author of Ukrainian anthem

200th anniversary of the birth of the composer and the author of the hymn of Ukraine Mikhail Verbitsky noted in the Polish mill, near the Ukrainian-Polish border. This anniversary coincides with the 150th anniversary of the first public performance of the anthem Ukraine. The solemn memorial service held the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk. He urged the Ukrainian unite around such prominent figures, which was Michael Verbitsky. Michael Verbitsky (1815 – 1870) – one of the first UKh professional composers Galicia, founder of Przemysl school of composition. First song « Ukraine is still alive & raquo ;, which later became the anthem heard in Przemysl. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution on March 4th celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Verbitsky. Decision of the 37th session of the General Conference YounesCA 200th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian composer Michael Verbitsky included in the calendar city ’ memorable dates in years 2014-2015, which will be celebrated under the auspices of the organization.
