From 1 October start in Khmelnytsky monthly voluntary surrender of weapons

Between 1 to October 31, 2015 citizens who own firearms and ammunition without lawful grounds, will be able to voluntarily surrender it to the police, thus avoiding criminal liability. Recall that according to Article 263 Kryminalnoho Code of Ukraine "illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives" carrying, storage, acquisition, transfer or sale of firearms (other than smoothbore hunting guns), ammunition, explosives or explosive devices without the permit required by law shall be punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to sevenyears. Wearing, manufacture, repair or sale of daggers, Finnish knives, brass knuckles or other bladed weapons without a permit required by law shall be punishable by a fine up to fifty non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or community service for a period of one hundred twenty to two hundred forty hours, or imprisonment for a term of three to six months, or aboutlimitation of liberty for a term of two to five years, or imprisonment for up to three years. However, the same article of the Criminal Code provides that a person exempt from criminal responsibility if he voluntarily surrendered authority weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices.
