"Coefficient of independence": In Kiev show Project Ukrainian and American artists
on August 21 at the American House in Kiev opened project "Factor Independence" organized by the Institute of Contemporary Art of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. The exhibition of over 30 artists from Ukraine and the USA will present in various jeancq. They will be speculation on independence, the place and role of the citizen in society, highlight the ideas and themes that concern their authors. « factor independence » is a logical continuation of « Practice variations & raquo ;, formerly held at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Both are about ’ united commontheme − theme of human transformations that occur with it in the context of recent socio-political changes in the country. The project « factor independence » will feature painting, photography, sculpture, video and installations. Artists affect various issues and reflection. Will and the intersection of Ukrainian and American cultUri, which we associate with the abstract expressionism, pop art. So the exhibition we present a picture of both domestic and American artists working in these techniques. If we look deeper into the very name of the project, suggest interesting reflections about what is independence or dependence − the social, political, personalplan what is effective independence as to build it so that it actually gave its citizens the freedom & raquo ;, − Natalia told Cultprostir Shpitkovska, Director of International Development Institute of Contemporary Art.
